Check whether your SSD and computer fit

Up to 2000 MB/s write only with NVMe SSDs on a 20 Gbps USB-C port; many laptops and all Macs do not have one.

Is this right for you?

Fits if

  • You have M.2 NVMe (M-key) or M.2 SATA SSDs (M+B-key), 2230 to 2280
  • You use two SSDs of the same type, or one
  • You want RAID 0, RAID 1 or a copy, set with the switch in the enclosure

Does not fit if

  • You want to use an NVMe and a SATA SSD together
  • Your SSD only has a B-key or is longer than 80 mm
  • You expect 40 Gbps: this enclosure does 20 Gbps

What you need

  • Your own SSDs: they are not included
  • For SSDs of 4 TB or larger: a 5V/3A USB-C charger
  • A 20 Gbps USB-C port for full speed

Check in three questions

Two SSDs together, up to 16 TB. Your photos, videos and projects on one drive you can take with you.

Photo and video off the card

With NVMe SSDs on a 20 Gbps port you move a day of footage at up to 2000 MB/s.

    Everything kept twice

In RAID 1 the enclosure writes to both SSDs. If one fails, your work is still on the other.

    Copy without a computer

In copy mode the enclosure clones SSD A to SSD B at the press of a button, with just a charger connected.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are SSDs included?

No. This is an empty enclosure: you add two M.2 SSDs yourself, NVMe or SATA. One SSD works too, then you use one slot. No SSD yet? See above which SSD fits.

    Which SSDs fit?

M.2 NVMe with M-key and M.2 SATA with M+B-key, in lengths 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280, up to 8 TB per SSD. An SSD with only a B-key does not fit. Use two NVMe or two SATA drives, not one of each.

What do the four modes do?

PM shows the two SSDs separately, which is the factory setting. RAID 0 turns them into one fast drive. RAID 1 keeps everything twice. In copy mode the enclosure clones SSD A to SSD B. Note: changing the mode erases your SSDs, so back up first.

    Do I need a charger?

Usually not: the enclosure is powered through the USB-C cable. With SSDs of 4 TB or larger, first connect a USB-C charger of 5V/3A to 5V IN, otherwise they may not be recognised.

    How fast is the enclosure?

With NVMe SSDs on a USB-C port of 20 Gbps you reach up to 2000 MB/s read and write. On a 10 or 5 Gbps port it works as well, only slower. With M.2 SATA SSDs the speed is around 500 MB/s.

Does the enclosure work on my computer?

On Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, without drivers or software. The cable runs USB-C to USB-C. If your computer only has USB-A, you need an adapter.
